Metro Vancouver development pipeline

See what’s being built while it’s still on paper.

Each week, Plotline reads the public record of Metro Vancouver’s municipalities, from council agendas and staff reports to rezoning and permit lists, and turns what changed into one free digest.

New. Advanced. Approved. Withdrawn.

The digest lists every project whose record changed that week, grouped by municipality. Each entry says what changed, where the project now stands and which document it came from.

What you can count on

  • Every entry links to the document it came from.
  • Numbers and names are copied as published. Nothing is rounded or guessed.
  • A project changes stage only when a document says it did.
  • If a source was missing that week, the digest says so.
  • Homeowners’ names stay out. Companies and architects appear as published.

Example only. These projects are made up.

Read from the public record, every week

Every municipality publishes its planning and permit news in its own place and its own format. Plotline reads it each week and keeps one record per project, so a project’s whole story stays together, from first application to building permit.

What we read

  • Council and committee agendas
  • Staff reports
  • Public hearing notices
  • Rezoning and development permit application lists
  • Building permit reports
  • Open data

What each project record holds

  • Address
  • Project type
  • Stage
  • Scale: units, storeys, floor area
  • Applicant and architect, as published
  • Key dates
  • Links to the source documents
